You may be here because you’re feeling low, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn next. You might not yet have the words to explain how you’re feeling, and that’s completely okay. Whatever has brought you here, you’re very welcome.

Counselling offers a confidential, supportive space where you can talk openly about what’s going on for you. It’s a place to slow things down, explore your thoughts and emotions, and begin to understand yourself more clearly. Taking the first step can feel daunting, especially if counselling is new to you, but sessions are designed to feel calm, safe, and unpressured.

In our work together, you are at the centre of the process. My role is to offer a warm, accepting environment where you feel listened to, respected, and supported as you explore your experiences at your own pace.

Alongside this, I also recognise that some people find it helpful to have tools or practices to support their reflection and personal development. Where appropriate, and always in collaboration with you, I may introduce optional techniques or exercises to support your wellbeing and self-understanding.

How I work

My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, which means I work with empathy, honesty, and without judgement. I trust in your capacity for growth and believe that meaningful change happens when you feel truly heard and accepted.

Sessions are led by you. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and no expectation to reach a particular outcome. I walk alongside you as you explore what feels important, offering reflections and support to help you make sense of your inner world.

At times, you may choose to explore practical tools or mindset work, such as grounding techniques, breathwork, journalling, or reflective exercises, if they feel supportive for you. These are always offered as options, never instructions, and are used to complement the therapeutic process rather than replace it.

Will the counsellor tell me what to do?

A common misconception about counselling is that the counsellor will tell you how to fix your problems. In person-centred counselling, this isn’t the case.

Rather than directing you, I listen carefully and reflect your experiences back to you, helping you gain clarity and insight for yourself. This allows you to connect more deeply with your own feelings, values, and choices.

Any tools or techniques introduced are there to support your exploration, not to steer it. You remain in control of your journey at all times, and we work together in partnership.

What can I expect from a counselling session?

Sessions with me are client-led and paced around what feels right for you on the day. You may want to talk, reflect, explore emotions, or simply sit with what’s present.

Counselling can support you in many ways, from gaining insight and recognising patterns, to processing difficult emotions, building self-awareness, or reconnecting with your strengths. Some people find sessions bring a sense of relief or clarity; others value having a consistent, non-judgemental space where they can be themselves.

Sessions last between 50 minutes and 60 minutes and are available online or in person.

Fees

If you feel ready to invest in yourself and would like to work with me, session fees are as follows:
£30 per 1-hour session (online via video call)
£45 per 50-minute session (in person)

You don’t need to have a clear “reason” to begin, if something is affecting your well-being, it’s valid to explore it in counselling.
